650 - getting it running part 4: engine reassembly

With the gear selector and clutch assembly all worked out, it was time to reassemble the rest of the egine. This part is pretty straight forward since I have done it multiple times before.

 

One thing to note, in the past when putting in a new cam chain rivet, I always set the engine upright and rivited the cam chain in place. This presented the distinct possibility I would drop something down into the engine via the cam chain channel. I finally wised up and left the engine sitting on its front while I worked on the cam chain. This way, if I dropped anything, it would fall on the ground rather than into the engine I just spent all this time reasembling.
